Blood Dontation Site

I was simply wondering, what sites do we have which actually connects the blood recipient to the blood donors, checking out, whether we have something which we can say is a national blood donor's directory.

On search i did find some of the decent sites. These did provide information and awareness about blood donation as well as the information on blood donors from various cities.
So i can say that all the data is currently being collected.

But how is the data represented to the user, as in when an recipient is in need, and how do we share it, that also does form a major concern. That would actually prove the usability of the data.

On searching on this items, i did found that some sites display all the detailed information about the blood donor to everyone, some other sites don't have much information about the donors.

This was a simple search with a more simpler search result, which if i can say, doesn't care much about the donors, privacy, just one simple script can get me information of all the donor which is maintained by the site.

So we do need to protect the privacy of the donors, this we can do by sending the information of the recipient to the donor.

Lets say if someone needs blood and comes to one of this sites and searches for the donors in the city.
Now the person will get a list of donor's which he needs to keep contacting one by one.

In another scenario, consider, that i am searching for donors in a city, now to protect the privacy of the donor, mails, and text messages shall be send to the donor's with contact information of the recipient. The donor in turn can contact, the recipient.

This way the recipient reaches a larger donor base, with a really short period of time, and also the privacy of the donor is maintained.


The second goal of such and directory needs to be tracking the blood donation record of an individual.
To do this, such systems needs to be integrated in the process along with all the blood donation center run by the hospitals and NGO's.

Also if it is possible to track the blood going to the blood bank and out of the blood bank, and track it back to the donor, we can actually let the donor, know how many lives, his blood has saved.
This can the most motivating factor for any person to donate blood regularly, and publishing this information on social networking site, etc.. It shall also make other people join the blood donation drive.

But for this the integration is the sole important point to make this happen and achieve such an goal.

Currently this sites are a little heavy and doesn't seem to be created with a view that they can be used on portable devices, etc....

Portability can help in increasing the ease of access.
